This is a favorite transportation mode and our personal recommendation, as it allows you to take in the breathtaking landscapes through the hills and by the beach, as well as plan exclusively around what you want to do and when you want to do it. Independence and freedom in equal measure!
One of the first things to note if you’re not a driver yourself and prefer to hop on a ride whenever possible is that apps like Uber are not really a thing in St. Barts, and taxis are the only kind of public transportation you will find.
There are two taxi stations on the island: one is in Gustavia, the colorful capital town always lively and up-to-something, and the other one is by the airport, as a way to welcome you on the island and get you to where you need to be upon arrival. Both are great options if you find yourself already there, but when it comes to getting a cab or private car from somewhere else, you may find it best to rely on a select Concierge service that can arrange transportation for you.
Overall, the St. Barts taxi service is a good option if you’re not a fan of driving yourself, but making arrangements to get to and from where you want to be beforehand might be even better to save time and revel in a worry-free holiday, with everything accounted for at every turn.
