Seeing a new day being born and witnessing how it gives way to night are two wonderful experiences. It's all about the colors, swiftly dancing in the sky, and the light, softly caressing and projecting on top of every surface within reach. Dusk and dawn are natural spectacles perfect for all kinds of occasions, from romantic beachfront picnics to lively bonfires with friends, filled with laughter and music.
If you love watching sunsets and sunrises, St. Barts’ beautiful beaches will provide! Amongst its many oceanfront havens, you will find private enclaves perfect for a slow morning or a calm afternoon, either waving the sun hello or bidding it goodbye.
Pointe Milou is a residential neighborhood with breathtaking views of the ocean and the vibrant green flora of the island. It is the perfect destination for those looking for peace and quiet, a place to rest and recharge like never before. Additionally, its panoramic scenery overlooking the shoreline promises wonderful pictures of pinkish skies and sparkling blue waters, turning it into a must-see destination for sunset lovers.
We’ve talked about Morne Lurin before, a small hill located nearby iconic Governeur Beach, ideal for athletic people who relish a good walk amongst nature. From the top, you can enjoy wide views of St. Barts’ rich landscape, spanning over both the beach and the hills. If you want to catch a break while watching an unforgettable sunrise, blessing a brand-new day, then we recommend packing a few snacks, grabbing a cozy picnic blanket, and spending the first hours of the day right in Lurin.
With its crystal clear water and gentle waves, Shell Beach is a superb alternative for a day spent by the shore, as it has everything: colorful flora and fauna for snorkelers, large cliffs for enthusiastic divers, and, of course, extensive patches of sand for you to sit down and revel in the beauty of it all. And hey, after spending a day of fun in the sun, what could be better than witnessing a stunning sunset, right by the ocean?
Gustavia is the hottest spot, the capital town of the island, filled with chic boutiques, delicious restaurants, refreshing bars, and simply the best of the best anywhere you look.
Located a few minutes from the beach, right in the heart of the town, is Fort Karl, one of the three original forts –together with Forts Gustav and Octav– that overlooked the city. It was built in 1787 and still holds on to this day. It also happens to be an excellent spot for sunset watching, so next time you find yourself walking around the island, do consider visiting!
Although it may be a bit difficult for some to reach this incredible beach, Colombier is definitely worth it. It is private, quiet, and unique, a small bay located on the northwest end of the island. You can snorkel, sunbathe, and of course, enjoy the light show of the night morphing into the day, together with your significant other.
