At its core, the Bucket Regatta celebrates tradition, camaraderie, and the sheer joy of sailing. Since its inception, it has attracted some of the world's most prominent sailors, creating an atmosphere that fosters genuine connections and a shared love for the open sea. Unlike many other sailing events, the Bucket Regatta is not driven by commercial interests but is solely dedicated to sailboat owners' pleasure and enjoyment. It's a tradition preserved and cherished, where invitations are extended to those who share a passion for the sea and the spirit of sailing.
The 2024 edition promises many captivating events that underscore the regatta's reputation for sailing excellence and social world-renowned. The Class ORCsy regattas, designed in the thrilling pursuit format, ensure an exciting competition among sailboats with similar sailing characteristics. The Corinthian Spirit Class, known for its no-spinnaker competition, returns to its roots, promising a test of skill and seamanship.
For the first time, a class dedicated to 100-foot racing sailboats adds a new dimension to the regatta. This class invites high-performance sloops over 100 feet in length that don't fit the criteria of the SYRA "cruising superyacht." The introduction of this class signifies the regatta's commitment to evolving with the times while staying true to its essence.
Responding to participants' feedback, the 2024 regatta welcomes social participants alongside racing enthusiasts. A limited number of non-racing entries are invited, ensuring that the joy of the Bucket extends beyond the competition. The official social program, renowned for its vibrancy, guarantees an unparalleled experience on the water and along the coast.
