Exploring and mastering the ocean has been of human interest basically ever since the dawn of men. There have been, undoubtedly, many instances through history in which this desire has been made evident. Transparent, even, and St. Barth is no exception to the rule.
Its history with sailing is a long one. From the Taino and Arawak people that visited the island from Anguilla, to its temporary administration by the British and therefore, its encounters with pirates, the undisputable rulers of wide waters, to more modern days, with healthy sportsmanship.
Since 2010, Les Voiles de St. Barth has been one of the main boat events of the island, alongside the classical St. Barths Bucket Regatta, a competition that held its first edition in 1995 and, just like Les Voiles, finally returned this 2022.
This year, Les Voiles de St. Barth has its awaited comeback and is ready to welcome you on an exciting adventure into the sparkling blue waters of the Caribbean ocean.
With its excellent weather and clean skies, St. Barth is the perfect island for sailing competitions. Favorable winds and waters kind to those skilled enough to know how to treat them respectfully, yet with a firm hand.
Starting April 17 and up until the 23rd, Les Voiles de St. Barth is a 7-day event filled with adrenaline and good sport spirit. Even though the actual race lasts only 5 days (from the 18 to the 23, with a day off in the middle), the tournament kicks off on the highest note since day one, with the bar opening at 3:00pm, and live music playing from 7:00pm and on.
On Thursday 21, crew members participating on the race are invited to a private social event on Nikki Beach, exclusive for participants. Attendees, on the other hand, are free to walk around St. Barth, go shopping, find a chic restaurant or go enjoy a calm picnic by the shoreline.
