Earlier this year, we shared with you a general overview of the eventful St. Barts calendar; eventful, since there’s always something to do here: whether you decide to take it slow and just enjoy beach activities, or to deeply involve yourself in the social and cultural agenda of the island.
With March already here, it’s time we review two of the most popular events through the year: St. Barts Bucket Regatta and the Jazz Festival. All of us at Le Barth Villas, as islanders, love this time of the year, because we get to see our friends, old and new, coming back once again to engage both in sportsmanship and artfulness.
Read along to discover everything you need to know about this incredible competition and, later on, the culturally-rich jazz and book St. Barts festival.
The Bucket Regatta is the perfect opportunity for those that thrive on the rush of adrenaline and enjoy the feeling of the wild wind and salty seawater while high-speed sailing. It’s a declaration of love for sport, though a healthy competition.
The history of St. Barts Bucket Regattas goes as far back as 1995, with the first one consisting of 4 yachts participating in this series of races and mastering the waters. From then on, it was held uninterrupted until March 2020 –when the world abruptly came to a halt–, and is finally coming back in this 4-day event, taking place from March 17 to March 20.
Even though the Bucket Regatta is an “invitation only” event, it’s still extremely enjoyable for all kinds of audiences, as the majestic ships are certainly a sight for sore eyes. You can witness the true sport spirit while indulging in a delicious meal in one of the island’s many restaurants, or while having a calm beach day.
Whether you are participating as a competitor or as a spectator, let the thrill of the tournament take over and enjoy the 2022 edition of St. Barts Bucket Regatta.
If sports aren’t really your thing, but literature, art and music are right up your alley, then St. Barts’ Book and Jazz Festival is the exact fit for you. With its many concerts and performances, and the presence of incredible authors and musicians, this St. Barts festival is a true testament of artistic talent.
From March 28 to April 9, there will be readings, various workshops, dedications and even a book market for you to acquire your next read. This art-filled St. Barts festival is the perfect place and time for people that thrive when exploring the richness of words and music.
If you plan on visiting for the Bucket Regatta, then you most likely would like to check our careful selection of Ocean View Villas, as the possibility of witnessing this event from the comfort of your very own luxury villa is quite undeniable.
On the other hand, our Beach Access Villas collection may be just right for you if you prefer to spend your vacation reading a good book, with your feet on the sand and the sun on your skin.
